In the bedroom, this accent chest solved a space problem without announcing itself. The proportions give it more presence than the footprint suggests. This is the sort of piece that gets easier to appreciate over time.

To my eye, it gets more compliments than the larger pieces around it. The finish gives the room a little depth. I am glad we went with it.

In our entry, it did not take long to feel like part of the house. The proportions give it more presence than the footprint suggests. We have a mix of finishes at home, and this slipped into that mix more easily than expected.

Seen in context, I expected it to be mainly decorative, but it has become one of the more useful pieces in the room. The finish gives the room a little depth. It gives the room a more collected look, not a showroom feel.
