    Close to the windows, it does not compete with the rest of the room, which is exactly why it works. The scale works well in a room that already has a lot going on. The piece is more substantial than it appears in the photos, which is worth keeping in mind for a smaller room. There is a nice balance here between visual interest and everyday usefulness.
