The previous piece was all function and no personality; this is a much better middle ground. The proportions give it more presence than the footprint suggests. It feels polished without looking as though the room was put together all at once.

Near the seating area, we use it constantly, and it has made a small routine easier.

Placed beside the seating area, it brought a little order to an otherwise awkward area. The proportions give the piece more character than the photos suggested. The concealed storage is useful without making the piece look utilitarian. I am glad we went with it. The difference is quiet, but it is there every day.

Across from the bed, the chest creates a calmer balance than we had before. The finish works with the furniture we already own. The finish reads a little warmer in person than it did on my screen, but it ended up working well with our existing pieces. It is the kind of purchase that makes a room feel more like home.
